The Donor is a 14 minute short (2025) written and directed by Nana Duncan. The film centres on the shared home of Eve and Yasmin, two Black queer women navigating the decision to start a family, while quietly revealing the tensions and contradictions that suggest they may not yet be ready for the journey ahead.

As Production Designer and Head of Department, I designed the couple’s home as a reflection of their relationship. The space was built to hold both intimacy and friction, expressing the contrast between their personalities and emotional approaches through colour, texture, layout, and detail. The home functions as a lived-in, aspirational environment while subtly exposing the cracks that emerge as their journey unfolds.

I led the art department throughout the production, from early concept development through sourcing, purchasing, and set dressing, working closely with the director and production team to ensure the design supported the emotional core of the film.

I loved this project, and I am incredibly proud to have been part of bringing this film to life.
